First I played DW3 at a friend's house and loved it. Then I played DW4, but i didn't realise that it was based off history until a Chinese friend of mine told me about the book.

Hrm, I suppose I'd say DW4, even though I didn't know it was based on anything at all at the time, so I suppose it's a combo of this site and Dynasty Warriors.
Edit: My mistake, I played DoaE too and didn't know it was based on anything. I'm surprised I didn't recognise some of the names when I played DW years later.

I am Chinese so I knew about it... It never sparked my interest though till I started playing Dynasty Warriors.

Dynasty warriors was how I started to like all the series.

SGYY novel.

I came across it because my wife is Taiwanese and she told me I'd like it. I did start playing RTK VII at the same time, but I count it as novel because that's what I was more interested in.

I had to ask her a million times while I was reading the book "How do you pronounce his name", "why has he got 4 names", and "why is T'sao T'sao so evil?"

Zhao Yun 4 prez wrote:It wasn't just the novel which brought people into the world of the Three Kingdoms. Many people have come to know this story through ways, such games etc. Me? It was Dynasty Warriors 2 which brought me into this world. What about other people?

For me, it would definately be relative to playing the Dynasty Warriors series. Upon playing DW3, i found the game very addicting, and fun. I searched the book and back of the box for an official web address and i discovered one. Ever since then, i've been deeply involved in the Three Kingdoms.
Everything i've obtained, and all i know; i give it away just to know you Lord.

DW3. I don't remember what made me want to buy DW3 but I'm glad I started playing it.
The world's affairs rush on, an endless stream;
A sky-told fate, infinite in reach, dooms all.
The kingdoms three are now the stuff of dream,
For men to ponder, past all praise or blame.

My boyfriend forced me to play DW4 (Which I actually thought was a run of the mill war game) and when I saw the characters (Namely Zhou Yu, Zhao Yun and Xiahou Dun) I thought this isn't that bad. So now I am obsessed and have been for 4 years. I have every game for the PS2 except Dynasty Tactics 2 which I cannot find for love nor money (I would also like the first one for the PS1), and I have the ROTK volumes. (I also have many posters in my house of the characters!) I am also currently completing my first adaptation of the book but have yet to decide whether I will publish it.
