Liu Zhang? I think hes a 'loser ruler' too in my view. Although he has good officers, he inherited most of his land i believe.

Yeah I'd have to agree as Cao Cao said "Liu Zhang? He is no hero. He is a watchdog once assigned to a post he never leaves." Liu Biao is a good ruler to play as you get great cities and a few searches and pop you got wei yan gan ning huang zhong zhou tai the list goes on...

I like using Julius Caesar or Sun Tzu, but Lu Bu takes the cake. Whats better then seeing how long you can hold a SINGLE city? I had a good 14 officers, 3 years into the game. Then i make a treaty with Cao Cao, and some other generic ruler (you've never heard of *ahem.... Shi Xie... ahem*, and just tear Sun Ce or whatever, and Liu Bei to pieces....

Why not use the trick to get 8 chars?
Try this, you Wuists!

Liu Bei is great, and his history is cool, what more can I say?

What?!?!?

Where the mess is Zhuge Liang! The sheer joy you get when the enemy struggles to do ANYTHING against you is great. It's a wonderful ego booster...especially if you've just gotten ganged up on by 4 countries at once and got your arse whiped off the map.

feh. Zhuge Liang can be a ruler very quickly if I wanted him to. Besides, who plays rulers all the time on ROTKVII? Not me. :p

I like to create my own character, as a general, because i cannot start my own kingdom. the problem is I cant get enough officers. I like to play as one of Liu Bei's officers and move up. As soon as i reach warlord, it is like i already won. You just have to wait for the right time to attack the enemy, and you always go for the big boys first.

For some reason I have a strange attraction to Guan Ping. I made him 100 100 100 100 then I died. *growls* Anyway, people who start too good like Lu Xun, Zhou Yu, Jiang Wei are just so boring because its soo easy. I usually play someone like Yang Xiu, good INT but low STR. It makes him challenging because he is a terrible fighter, and fighting is quite fun.

When I play a ruler I generally pick Ma Teng or Liu Zhang. They are challenging because they dont have the super officers rulers such as Cao Cao or Sun Quan has.
