They're determined to stick with RTS because they've shoehorned it into the last big chunk of their games and they seem to be all in on doing their games this way now. Which would be fine if they could implement it effectively.

They haven't managed that in XIII, because it's one of my bigger gripes with the game - I will be ready to do a particular task, only to have 5 different things fire off in rapid succession which causes me to forget my original task I wanted to carry out. Maybe things were better in one of the Nobunaga games, but I wouldn't know...

I played XI the most of all RoTK games I've played, so I'm at the very least interested. But whether with this series or Dynasty Warriors, Koei has been pretty disappointing lately, so my excitement is rather limited at the moment.

If they are using the system from 9 then you shouldn't have to worry about that last bit as the strategy phase is turn based and things only enter their "active mode" when you click end turn essentially where in 9 I believe ten days would pass.

Nobunaga's Ambition worked fine with the turn based to real time system. I think ROTK XIII turned into message hell partly because it was an RPG and had more things to pester the player with and partly because it didn't have development phases to just give you a log to browse through like NA.

Looking forward to it.

VIII is the only entry in the series I've played and I loved that one. Would have loved this to be a RP based one but very willing to give it ago whenever it makes it to the UK.

I hope everything is turn based like 11 looking at the game screenshot
Cause i have no hope for a competent AI in RTS games in general, let alone thinking tecmo "DLC fan-service maniac" koei would be able to do one.

11th was a blast and always get me some urge to play everytime i think about it because turn base strategy games just allow ... "better" AI. Not really smart in a sense, it's just the way TBS games are structured, the AI have a lot of options, which make them kinda random, good or bad, it still can throw people off. While RTS AI acts according to your respond, so it's easy to lead them when you figure it out. It's the reason why i completely despise RoTK 12/13 battle system. Even total war three kingdoms, i can't enjoy the game more than 4h a day even on the Legendary difficulty because battle just seem to be a replay over and over after i kinda figure the pattern

Hi guys, long time without coming here, but the ROTK XIV announcement catch me complete by surprise (a good one of course). But the news I have been wanting to hear is a "collection" of some sort (or at least that they will release the old games as Classic at the PSN). Have someone heard something like that?
Ok your majesty, now, back to your room!

13 is in English if you want to try another RP-based one.
