You're probably right. Anyway, downloaded and updated first post.

That's good to hear, as you haven't answered my reply from days ago, I was starting to wonder whether you've been abducted by aliens or something. Please, let us know that you're alive from time to time (like ... when you make a question) or when you decide to disappear as you put.

EDIT

Good news, I've finished MSG 02 and playtested a bit.

Gray Riders, your descriptions aren't showing properly, you must break the lines manually (use enter with saneditor) as the game won't do it automatically.

LCC, counting on you to fix this last file. Although I've been methodical, I'm human so I can't guarantee there are no mistakes since there were many swapped messages in this file.
Note: Most of the encyclopedia should be corrected as the english version texts doesn't quite match how things work in puk, but I dunno whether anybody is willing to do such corrections.

I'll be very busy myself these next weeks, but I believe most of what I could do I've done already so this shouldn't be a problem.

Here are the exported texts of 02 so it's easier to compare texts.

Does the file contain anything you'll encounter in actual gameplay? Other than bios and descriptions and such. Because I don't really see any pointers or so, so I wouldn't really want to go through parts of the game nobody looks at anyway just to spot some mistakes.

"actual gameplay?" ... well, I don't remember seen any event message, if that's what you're asking. But I thought it'd be easy to fix as you can skip most of the messages and worth the effort for the sake of a neat translation.

Personally, I'd like to see the configuration texts display properly (I never remember what that "arrange" option means — if I ever learned), other than that we have stuff like the tutorial dialogs, that I don't need and don't know if are working, but would be a let down to other people. Bios and descriptions seem to be displaying right already (even some extra stuff found in the options). The glossary isn't working as it should, but that's also something "experts" like us won't miss (and dismiss as stuff nobody sees).

Yeah, "actual gameplay" in things you would come across often while just playing the game normally. And not stuff you only see somewhere in the menue or which is more or less hidden elsewhere.
I see, but I'm not sure if I'm actually going to do that. University starts this week again, so I'll have less time anyway.

Okay.

------------
EDIT

I've untranslated some bracket only messages and fixed two emperor bios. Unfortunately the problem with configuration texts seems related to the encryption.

Just out of curiosity, here is the structure of MSGs:

Header:
16 bytes = 4C 53 31 31 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 | LS11
256 bytes = ???
16 bytes = 00 08 0B 2D 00 08 0B 2D 00 00 01 20 00 00 00 00 | Compressed / Uncompressed sizes and unknown 01 20

Data:
2 bytes = # of messages
4 bytes = reference to 1st message (note if a message is added all references must be increased by 4 bytes)
4 bytes = reference to 2nd message (= to previous reference + the length of previous message)
...
the messages themselves each ending with 05 05 05

Note: San11Editor uses zlib so the compression might be deflate. But I don't know much about compression.

Although it doesn't help this project in anyway, I thought it was worth having it somewhere. Probably, if we could compress the MSG 02 after translating it, those last messages would show properly.

By the way, how are you doing?
