One thing, however: Wu has no really excellent officers for the final battle against Wei/Shu (depends on the story path). Yes, you have Lu Xun, but Xu Sheng, Zhu Huan, and Ding Feng are no match (in the game) for Wei's Zhang Liao and Xu Huang or Shu's Zhao Yun, Guan Xing, and Zhang Bao.

The Shu path is basically the Northern Campaigns, including an almost unwinnable Jieting battle.

You know you can edit an officers stats in ROTK8?

Uh... yeah, but not for those scenarios.

It's stupid - in the Wei scenario, they'll throw Zhang Fei, Wei Yan, Huang Zhong, Ma Chao, and Zhao Yun at you, and all you get is people like Han Hao and Xiahou De. Whoever makes those scenarios should be strung up and summarily executed.

I just watched my first all computer play through in ROTK8. It was in the 184 scenario. He Jin expanded quickly and beat down Zhang Jiao. Zhang Jiao died early so Zhang Bao took over. Pei Yuan Shao rebelled from Zhang Bao but both were beaten down easily by He Jin. All He Jin had left to do was expand but sadly he died. Guess who took over? Zhang Bao. Yes, Zhang Bao. Needless to say, 8+ cities rebelled but somehow, Zhang Bao quickly defeated them and united China under the flag of the person who killed his brother. Anyone else seen any strange inheritance such as this?

That's what typically happens in that scenario. Zhang Liang and Zhang Bao will gladly serve He Jin. When the ruler of a force dies, if there's no relative, then the person with the highest rank succeed him. If a ruler is defeated and joins a force, then he will have the highest rank in the force most likely even if he did nothing.

Heck, I've seen Sun Ce succeed Liu Biao before.

It's also very common for Kong Rong to succeed Tao Qian.

My computer version of He Jin seems to have an unnatural obssession with Zhang Bao. Whenever Zhang is captured in battle, He Jin always executes him. Other officers tend to get the chop (Liao Hua is one such unfortunate) but Zhang Bao is the only one who is destined for the block every time.

Anyone else find Wang Zhong's portrait hilarious? I never play as him, or met anybody who does. I usually hire him in the game in hopes he'll master more than one tactic...Other than that, that portrait is hilarious you gotta keep it around.

You think that's funny? Look at Tao Jun. Classic ORLY face.

O RLY?!

I just had to post it! :)
I take-back what I said about Wang Zhong. Tao Jun wins the prize! I wonder what was going through Koei's ideas by making portraits like him. He looks like some one actually admitted that he was ugly. And was a cheap quality-looking general?! Either way, this looks so much funnier than staring at Wang Zhong or Xiahou Mao's curiosity.

Haha. Gold. 8-)

It's funny, because Tao Jun was bested by a surprise attack. It seems like that portrait is when he turned around and realized that Jin had just kicked his butt.
