Me: "Ah, so Sima Zhao of Sima Yi's army visits us. Welcome. What business do you have this day?"

Sima Zhao: "Your force is holding mother captive. Please release the prisoner for 1840 gold."

Obviously, I did have Zhang Chunhua captive...and so it makes sense.
But the first time I've noticed that form of address.

Wonder if it works similarly when the officer acting as diplomat is a sibling or the parent of the captured officer as well.

It does. I've seen characters referred to as Uncle, father, etc. in that type of situation.
"I take Heaven and Earth to be my dwelling, and my rooms are my coat and pants; so what are you gentlemen doing in my pants?"
Check out this list of historical resources I have.

Search result:

Whilst walking the streets of Bei Ping, Li Si encountered Yu Ji handing out medicine to the exhausted people.

Yu Ji: "Do you not hear the voices of the people? Proffer me 1000 gold and I will be able to help them."

Will you give 1000 gold to Yu Ji? (Bei Ping's gold: 3681)

Yu Ji: "You are indeed generous. The people will be helped and the fame of Liu Yan's army is sure to increase."

The fame of Liu Yan's army has risen. Technique Points have increased to 1800 (+50)

That bastard Ma Chao just blapped poor Sun Ce at the start of a duel.

Got the boast, the counter-boast, then he whips out a bow and pops him. How utterly rude!

(I assume this is another feature of having a Bow item besides just being able to Feign Retreat)?
