Ruler of what, who's gonna work for him?
Personally I would think he would be better as a general or viceroy or something rather than someone that is leading his own force, but you can try it if you want, can't be worse than having Liu Shan as a leader.

Have you tried using him as a ruler yet? Is Zhuge Liang still around, I always wanted to see how the AI would do with him as the leader of Shu instead.

Years ago, I read a post from someone suggesting that it was possible. But I've never had it happen personally. Using a high-INT Timid officer the right way can lead to some pretty ugly energy drains deep deep deep into negative territory, but in my experience the other officer always gets to limp away. Now maybe Bold/Reckless personalities might be different since they are more aggressive...but due to the way their Furies work, they can't really do that big damage in "one hit" like you can with Timid/Cool.

So in short, I've never seen it happen.

I see Wei Yan as ruler (replaced Liu Chan) in Nanman Rebellion scenario. i didn't play him, i let the game play

I also placed Wei Yan in Zhang Jiao slot

I also made Shu & Wu forces no longer in alliance, Neutral diplomatic relation

Not as aggressive though

Zhuge Liang is in the force too, his loyalty default is 150, but keep on dropping once Wei Yan becomes ruler (Zhuge Liang dislike Wei Yan)

In this game, Yang Yi & Zhuge Liang dislike Wei Yan. Therefore these 2 officers loyalty will keep on dropping every month

Wei Yan force (Shu) was wiped out by Cao Pi in the end, even Sun Quan force was wiped out by Cao Pi too

Also, has anyone noticed a sound fault with Gan Ning when executing a tactic? The 'clang' sounds wrong, rather like a crinkle or sound of rolling dice or something.

It just stands out to me because I use him as an Artillery officer a lot so I'm frequently executing tactics with him.

It's not a sound fault, but an intentional easter egg; Gan Ning (at least in his pirate days) carried bells with him so people would hear him coming, so his critical sound effect is a bell instead of the usual one.

Hmmm...I knew that, but I didn't make the connection. I guess it just doesn't sound like bells to me.

Thanks.
