Even in the novel he gets better as time goes on and only when he is blinded at Yi Ling does his judgement falter and even then his leadership ability isn't bad then he even comes up with that ambush that only Lu Xun sees through. He really needs stats in the 80s at least in leadership and war since he did fight in many battles. (low 80s i mean)

I feel that his LDR stat should be bumped up to the mid-to-high 80's. I think his WAR stat is fine, though. Also, I don't think he launched any ambushes during Yi Ling, but rather he was the one who was ambushed.

Still. I was just about to say, his LDR stat is WAY too low - and Guan Yu's is WAY too high. There's no way Guan Yu was a better military commander than Zhuge Liang, Sun Ce, or Zhou Yu.

He planned one ambush in Yi Ling and the Wu generals were about to run right into it but Lu Xun stopped them (happened both in history and the novel) also he wasn't abushed just defeated in battle.
I think his war ability should be higher since he did fight in many battles in the begining of his career so it should be higher, perhaps his weapon could give him 80 after the boost.
For Guan Yu it is only natural, he was amazing militarily (remember the games are based off the novel. Novelwise he was far more impressive then Sun Ce or Zhou Yu)

Otherwise i really like the pictures they are quite nice. I would like to know a bit more about the gameplay though. I would like to know more about that far more then screenshots.

Yeah, but I don't believe that Liu Bei was always in the front lines in his career and fought as an actual soldier, rather he stayed behind and overlooked his army (WAR being physical toughness in RTK these days, an 80 WAR Liu Bei really doesn't seem fitting). His LDR should be boosted a little, I would say.

Zhou Tai looks like a Mongol warrior, kind of. Lu Bu looks bad ass, I like the old Ma Chao too, and how the abilities change from young to old.

I'd like to see a portrait of Ma Teng. And uh, I wonder if KOEI will manage to put in Nobunaga's Ambition 12 portraits for CC's? :)

Neither do any of the other characters, for that matter! :P

True, but in my opinion, Lu Bu looks the least chinese out of everyone.

I don't know, I think ROTK11 Zhou Tai takes that honor. ;)

Rather looks like me, actually.

Oh my eyes! I'm kidding. Anyway, you're right, he probably IS the least Chinese looking so far.

Sadly, neither have a new portrait but if you're still interested in the stats:

Zhang Yi, Bogong.

Zhang Yi, Junsi.

Ditto, reused portrait but if you still want the stats:

Ma Teng.

Thank you very much! I didn't even have the portraits, so everything works out. :)

Gan Ning, Sun Shang Xiang, Zhou Yu, and Lu Xun also change. The change with Zhou Yu and Lu Xun is pretty subtle - they look almost the same, just a bit more mature, while Sun Shang Xiang doesn't age per se - she changes into a more formal dress. Gan Ning, on the other hand, grows a beard, I believe.

It looks like Koei's once again making the mistake of lowering Cheng Pu's stats. Will those fools never learn?

EDIT: Zhou Yu and Lu Xun also get a considerable stat boost if I'm not mistaken.

I too was upset to see that Cheng Pu's stats were actually lowered from the last game, Huang Gai's also if I am not mistaken. However, I am very pleased to see that Lu Meng has finally gotten the stats he deserves, some 30 points higher in INT than in X!

Yang Song, his portrait... it beckons me...

Which means that one of you lucky bastages who know Japanese and have the game need to see about adding that one to your little collection, and letting me in on it. ;)

Just picked up the Japanese version from a store here in DC for about $20 due to my ability to actually speak Chinese and thus negotiate for a lower price in the shop owner's native tongue ;) . Pretty impressed even though I don't read Japanese.

Luckily, there's a pretty easy to use stat editor by van, the same guy who made one for ROTKX. Cheng Pu and Huang Gai are both now happily toting a WAR scare in the high 80's. ;) Yet another reason I prefer the PC version: I can always mess with Koei's stats/move officers who are in the completely wrong force (trust me, Dong Xi and Ling Cao would NEVER serve that scrub Yan Baihu).

One thing that's really, really cool in this game: you can wed off females in your force and initiate sworn brothers, apparently. I got Sun Ce and Zhou Yu hitched to their wives in 195, and I also saw that if I was feeling particularly disgusting, I could have wed off Wu Guotai to Sun Jing or something. That said, I'm glad I found Da Qiao and Xiao Qiao before that bastard Yuan Shu, who's now steamrolling the Central Plains somehow (he just barely missed conquering Jiang Xia, as when he invaded it had 8,000 troops to his 20,000 invading, and then suddenly Huang Zu got his head out of his butt and drafted to 40,000 while Ji Ling struggled with terrain!).

Wed off females like in RTK2? That's neat. There were times when a ruler gave me his daughter, I accepted and then went to war with him the next month.

Is there any tiger wolfing commands, like making a governor revolt against his ruler?
