Limewire Down?

Unread postby KingofWei&Wu » Tue Mar 04, 2008 7:01 pm

Has anyone else been having problems connecting to Limewire lately? It won't let me connect at all for a few days, and a few of my friends have had the same problem for about a week or so. I've tried everything firewall-wise; that and the fact that everyone I've talked to is having the same problem lead me to think maybe the bug is on Limewire's end. The rare occasion that their support site actually works doesn't lend me any hints as well.

The force of those dire arms? yet not for those,
Nor what the potent victor in his rage
Can else inflict, do I repent or change

Woah, wait... people still use LimeWire?

I just tested it. Worked 'perfectly'.

And by perfectly I mean as well as LimeWire has ever worked.

I was just going to make a snarky comment along those lines. The problems people are having connecting to LimeWire are that they're connecting to LimeWire.

James limewire is awesome I mean compared to BitTorrent no but if i want a single song then thats better than trying to find a single song on BitTorrent. Although thats ab out all u can get with limewire cuz everything else has viruses in it.
If im postin here its not about china

If I was going to download music I'd prefer to do it through a torrent—you can download just one song that way, if you wish. The level of quality and availability of music on LimeWire is very iffy. Sometimes even music with a high bitrate is ripped with a poor codec. It has its uses, I suppose. But I don't have anything nice to say about it. And a person using it better know what they're doing or they'll be begging for viruses and spyware—or they'll wind up sharing their whole music collection which can result in the RIAA suing them for ~$750 per song.

I just use google to search for individual songs.

Yeah me too, I like actually having the case and I trust the quality of iTunes when I can't get my hand on the CD.
