Kongming's Archives Content Requests

Unread postby James » Sun Jul 28, 2002 9:29 am

Hello everyone,

I get requests for content by site viewers all the time, and sometimes we can and can't fulfill these requests (for various reasons). I have decided to post the requests here just in case any of the other members want to take a up a project to appear on Kongming's Archives. Failing that, at least it serves as a reminder to us.

Current requests:

- SGZ biography translation: Wei Yan
- SGZ biography translation: Lu Bu
- SGZ biography translation: Sun Quan
- SGZ biography translation: Zhang Liao
- SGYY biography: Cao Cao (big job)
- SGYY biography: Liu Bei (big job)
- A .doc file with hanzi for each officer in Dynasty Warriors

If anyone is up to any of these challenges just send me a PM so I can mark them as in progress. I will update this page as new requests come in. :)

I don't really know if this helps, but on the Japanese DW3 Page, it has the characters as well as their hanzi or kanji, don't know the difference. Anyway, see if this helps:

The language is cantonese or mandarin, not Japanese.
I could translate it if you want.

Well I'll be damned. That was exactly what I was looking for. I went there a while ago but for some reason or another I remembered it being Japanese, not Chinese. Thanks! :)

Thank a bunch for the offer, but it is okay. I can translate based off the images. :)

That explains why I couldn't read it

James, this is not what we're looking for since it's not mandarin.

I think you are wrong their Jon. The words of these charaters were written in classic Chinese, not simplify. I think that why you can't read it...

You are probably right there, I don't know enough about old chinese and canto to know this.

Forgot to login in.
Cantonese and mandarin is the same thing.
Just the communication is different. The characters mean the exact same thing.
Anyways, now that I think about it, its like a combination of chinese and japanese, I can read the whole sentence out and suddenly this big square comes out of nowhere.
A square would mean mouth in chinese, but it makes no sense in the sentence.
