Dynasty Warriors (Shin Sangoku Musou) PC Thread

Unread postby Kongming's Prodigy » Mon Aug 20, 2007 3:55 am

As of right now, this thread will serve as a basis for discussion on all PC DW topics, including DW4/SSM3 Hyper, SSM4 Special, and SSMBB. Many seperate topics have been created before, and I feel it is more reader-friendly to have one conjoined topic.

And now, to pose my first topic of discussion: since I'm upgrading to a new Vista-equipped PC, I'd like to know the compatibility of these DW games with Vista. So if anyone is running these games on Vista right now, I'd like to know if there have been any issues at all. :)

Better graphics and some XL components.

I'd really like to know how to make screenshots from the PC version, though. The PrntScrn key doesn't work in the DW environment.

Not to make this a technical thread but:
Is it possible to window it?
If you can just download some crappy little program or some such and screenshot the window (Snagit does it for specific sections so yer whole desktop isn't in it).

And to answer the question:
No I do not, doesn't seem worth it to me.
If it had more features other than the graphics upgrade I'd consider it though.

I'm pretty sure that XFire makes you able to take screenshots, by pressing Scroll Lock + S.

It makes a good alternative to the PS2 versions. That, and you can download free editors and such which can change characters' weapons as well as create custom bodyguards.

I would say they make superior alternatives to the PS2 versions. Koei did a very good job of porting the games, in comparison to many of the other PC ports you see nowadays, especially Ubisoft's miserable ports of Devil May Cry and Resident Evil.

But hey hey! No one answered my question. How does DW run on Vista? Or is no one running on Vista?

I'm on Vista right now, but my CD's from home haven't arrived yet. I think that if there are any problems, running in DX9 compatibility would fix them.

Definitely, though it may not be in English. The PC versions of DW4 and DW5 sold very well in Asia.
